Love Island USA's Bergie brutally dumped - but gets surprise 'throuple' text

The premiere episode of Love Island USA had a lot of twists and turns, especially with newcomer Bergie.

Bergie was dealt his first blow when no girls decided to choose him in Stick or Twist during the first coupling. He eventually was coupled up with Anna by default, who was not excited about the match.

The other couples sensed the vibes were off, and when Sarah Hyland asked them to vote for who the least compatible couple was, they were chosen.

Sarah Hyland sent shockwaves around the villa with yet another twist - the news that one of them would be leaving. The decision was down to the least compatible couple Anna and Bergie, who had to decide between themselves who would go.

Bergie quickly offered himself to leave, saying he was raised to be a gentleman.

All the Islanders were shocked at the elimination, and Bergie himself seemed dazed as he talked to the camera after he left.

"To only be there a short time is gut-wrenching," he said, "I wish I had more time."

And then, a text came through.

The text read: "Bergie, everyone deserves a second chance #stillinthegame #coupleup."

The redhead looked visibly excited as the credits instantly started to roll, leaving fans on a cliffhanger until tomorrow.

This wasn't the only surprise the villa had to offer, fans and Islanders alike were shocked when Marco arrived and admitted to host, Sarah Hyland, that he knew one of the females.

During the game Stick or Twist, never before played on Love Island USA, Marco was the second boy to appear. Before any of the girls could move to say if they liked him, Marco admitted he knew one of the girls, Anna.

Anna and Marco went to the same gym in Florida, with Marco saying that they were "gym buddies".

Anna admitted there was no romantic connection with her gym mate.

In her intro video, Anna admitted that she brought a wedding dress with her to the villa. She said she "couldn't wait" for her future husband to see her in it. She also modelled the dress in the video, showing off her ringless hand to the camera.

Anna eventually coupled up with Bergie and Marco coupled up with Destiny.

Love Island USA airs every day, bar Wednesday, at 9pm EST on Peacock.
