A mysterious green fireball has been captured on a Ring doorbell sparking alien fears in a sleepy town.

The bright light is believed to have been a meteor burning up as it entered the Earth’s atmosphere. However, some locals were convinced that the light looked more like a UFO landing on a nearby street.

The clip shows the green light filling the night sky behind a nearby house before quickly disappearing. It was captured in Gretna, south of New Orleans, Louisiana, US, at around 4.30am on 14 July.

The phenomenon was also reported by numerous residents in nearby areas, including Madisonville and Eunice.

Meteorologists confirmed they received multiple reports of the fireball. The American Meteorological Society said they are investigating the incident.

However, one local said: “That’s not what they say it is. “That’s a landing.” Another said: “Wow, awesome. “Wonder where it landed? For a moment, it looked like it was coming in for a landing!”

“UFO must've stopped to get a poboy,” joked someone else.

Reginald wrote: “That ain't no meteor, that's an alien ship warping into our space and time.” Floyd remarked: “I saw this bright white light with a beautiful blue trial of light. “Can’t agree that it was a meteorite because I saw no fire, but it was the most beautiful and scariest thing I have ever seen in 58 years.”

Steve commented: “What was that? “Looks like it landed in the front yard. “Completely separate from the initial ‘meteorite.'" Jen joked: “They're here.”

News of this supernaturally green light is making its way around the internet just as American politicians are battling it out in a fight to release more classified government documents on UFOs.

Some government agents are arguing that the government definitely has proof of aliens, and say it is vital that it is released to the public.

'"One of these phenomena, we know, has already had an impact on our training ranges," according to John Kirby, the National Security Council's Coordinator for Strategic Communications under President Biden.

Another, David Grusch, a former Department of Defence official, says deeply covert government agencies possess "intact and partially intact" alien aircrafts. Grusch's revelations sparked open congressional oversight hearings set for July 26 next week.
