A family have been left in "unbelievable shock" after a mum-of-two died in a freak skydiving accident.

Heather Glasgow, 44, was participating in a solo skydive on Saturday afternoon when she suddenly started to spin uncontrollably and could not recover, according to eyewitnesses.

Sallisaw Police Department confirmed the mum's parachute fully deployed but she was tragically unable to stop spinning before she hit the ground during a skydive at the City of Sallisaw Airport in Oklahoma, US

She he was rushed to Northeastern Health System Sequoyah but died just hours later from her injuries.

Police said Heather had previously taken in a tandem skydive and also attended two first time jump classes at Adventure Skydive Centre.

The Federal Aviation Administration and Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Office are currently investigating the cause of death.

Family and friends paid tribute on social media to Heather after the tragic accident.

Jason Glasgow, Heather's cousin, posted on Facebook: "Today heaven received another angel.

"The world is a lesser place with out her. She lived fearlessly and set the example to never give up and never quit dreaming.”

While Heather's aunt, Betty Glasgow Howse, asked for friends to pray for her two children.

She wrote: "Pray for our family, especially her mother and sisters, and her two boys.

"This has been an unbelievable shock.”

The incident comes after a TikTok beauty queen died died in a freak skydiving accident after her parachute "opened too late."

Tanya Pardazi, from Toronto, Canada, died while skydiving in the town of Innisfil in the Canadian province of Ontario at around 5.40pm on 27 August.

The social media star, who has over 100,000 followers, was injured after jumping out of a plan which was operated by Skydive Toronto.

It is alleged she reportedly opened her parachute too late during her first solo skydive.

She was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was tragically pronounced dead.

Melody, who knew Tanya for over 10 years after meeting in primary school, paid tribute to her.

She wrote: “She was adventurous and always trying new exciting stuff. Skydiving was supposed to be another fun adventure for her.”

Another friend, Kimia Sepanlou, called her “one of the bravest girls” she kne.

She told Toronto CTV News: “Whenever we saw her, we knew we were in for an adventure because she didn't like letting herself, or the people closest to her, get bored.”
