Fans of The Voice Kids were up in arms on Saturday when the winners were crowned - bringing the show to what many felt was an abrupt end.

Singing duo Shanice and Andrea Nyandoro - who were part of Team Will - were declared the winners of the 2023 series defeating Ronan Keating’s act Niamh Noade, Danny Jones’ Will Edgar, and Pixie Lott’s hopeful Hayla-Essen Danns.

The two winning stars, who are 11-years-old, bagged a special family holiday to Universal Orlando Resort in Florida as their prize.

Fans of the ITV singing competition were disappointed, however, that the show was over so fast as the format of the series included just three live rounds.

Another complained: “Why so short a series? Odd.”

And a further fan added: "Watching #thevoicekids and notable that the format shorter now."

Winning twins Shanice and Andrea were thrilled to learn the scooped the top spot, saying on air: “We’re feeling very good. Excited!”
Their coach, will.i.am was equally exciting, telling them: “I’m so proud of you guys.”

Earlier in the show, Pixie was moved to tears by a performance by her own contestants who wowed with a rendition of Climb Every Mountain from The Sound of Music.

Praising singers Tiara-Leigh, Hayla, Martha, and Elyssa, Pixie gushed: “Oh my gosh, I’m so proud of you girls. I can’t even begin.

“Your confidence has grown unbelievably. It’s like I’ve got four different girls in front of me.”

Fellow coach Danny was also impressed by the performance, saying: “I mean, I hate to say it but, Pixie, you have an amazing team there. What a joy!”

And even Will gushed: “You guys are really, really awesome. Each individual sang their part but you came together at the end and that was really great.”

Indeed, some viewers even felt the group performance was the highlight of the night.

Commenting on social media, one viewer wrote: “All the kids were amazing tonight but these girls together singing were a wow wow wow. They brought tears to my eyes. Well done girls you all sang so beautiful.”

And another concurred, writing: “What an outstanding performance!! They were all amazing.”

Fans of The Voice won't have too much longer to wait for more singing action to come to their TV screens as the adult version of the show will be back this year and with coaches will.i.am, Anne-Marie, Sir Tom Jones and the recently married Olly Murs all set to return too.
