New York Giants offensive lineman Mark Glowinski has warned the rest of the NFL that the team's quarterback, Daniel Jones, is set to make another leap this coming season.

Jones had his best year last time out and was rewarded with a four-year, £122million ($160m) extension deal - making him one of the highest-paid quarterbacks in the league.

It's a huge showing of faith to Jones, but his lineman are confident that he'll be even better this upcoming season - the second year under head coach Brian Daboll who joined from the Buffalo Bills.

Daboll won Coach of the Year award in his first year as a head coach with the Giants, and has been credited in aiding Jones' development - something Glowinski knows will continue.

Speaking on the Ross Tucker podcast, Glowinski said: "I think it’s going to be even better now that he has that little bit of sense of relief in the sense that he doesn’t have to prove anything to anybody and now he can just go out there and have fun and kick ass. And I think that’s what was showing last year.

"He did a great job, especially coming off of the past couple of years where he’s had a different coach. Even with last year, he had a new coach. So he is, you can tell early on in the season, that he had a little bit of tightness in him, where he wanted to make sure he was being right all the time.

"And I think, you know, for something simple for me, I would just tell him to try to stay loose and have as much fun out there.

"I felt like every game that we were winning, he was opening up a little bit more and you would see a little bit more fire in him and more and more and that swagger was coming out. And there was a lot of fun that was being played last season.”

Jones had career-best numbers in almost every possible statistic tracked this past season, but has had an up and down three years prior to that, not living up to the hype after being drafted with the sixth overall draft pick in 2019.

But he'll hugely be hampered if his running back Saquon Barkley does not resign, who currently looks to be holding out for a long-term deal after being franchise-tagged earlier this off-season.
