Rita Ora accidentally called a BBC Breakfast presenter Huw Edwards in an awkward TV blunder.

The singer appeared on the show to promote her new music, but there was an awkward moment during the interview.

While talking to Charlie Stayt about her latest album You & I, she accidently said "thanks Huw" instead of "thank you".

She said the name of BBC presenter Huw Edwards after it was revealed he was the broadcaster accused of paying £35,000 to a teenager in return for explicit photographs.

Talking about the album, Charlie said: "You're here doing publicity, this is the world you live in and at the same time you clearly guard your privacy."

Rita then replied: "Yeah, thanks Huw," before she realised what she said and added: "Thanks Huw? Thank you, for noticing that."

The pair seems to move on pretty quickly from the awkward moment and went straight back to the topic of the interview.

However, viewers noticed the moment and took to Twitter to discuss it.

One wrote: "Rita Ora saying 'thanks Huw' then quickly changes it to 'thank you' made me laugh."

As a second said: "Not Rita Ora saying 'thanks Huw' on BBC Breakfast FFS," with a third adding: "Who keeps rewinding the Rita Ora interview? @BBCBreakfast."

Another added: "Soooo Rita Ora says thanks to Charlie by saying 'thanks Huw' hilarious @BBCBreakfast."

It comes after Huw's wife Vicky Flind last week released a statement about allegations that he paid for explicit photos.

She said: "In light of the recent reporting regarding the 'BBC Presenter' I am making this statement on behalf of my husband Huw Edwards, after what have been five extremely difficult days for our family.

"I am doing this primarily out of concern for his mental well-being and to protect our children. Huw is suffering from serious mental health issues. As is well documented, he has been treated for severe depression in recent years.

"The events of the last few days have greatly worsened matters, he has suffered another serious episode and is now receiving in-patient hospital care where he’ll stay for the foreseeable future.

She then went on to say that "Huw is deeply sorry" that many colleagues have been impacted by the situation."
