The chaos of Amazon Prime Day is over for another year as the 48-hour sale comes to an end, but those still looking out for a money-saving deal don't have to fully close their browser. That's because a lot of products can still be found cheaper, some even less than the Prime rates themselves.

That's right, not all Prime Day prices are the cheapest. After covering a host of seasonal sales and Black Friday drops on various retailers there's a pattern that usually follows huge sale events, especially if there's leftover stock.

  • Get the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 £70 cheaper than the 2023 Prime Day 'sale' price

Figures obtained by consumer experts at idealo show some shoppers who head straight to a Prime checkout during its major sales could risk overspending on certain products, paying £125 more for a Dyson Supersonic Hairdryer or £49 more for a Ninja Ice Cream maker purely because the prices after the 2022 Prime Day sale dropped lower as soon as the event ended.

This is why we urge shoppers to scour price history tracker tools during any sale event, and it doesn't have to be prime. It's the plus side of online shopping where you can now access a full breakdown of previous prices, you'd be surprised how many 'sale' items are not discounted at all.

Price tracker CamelCamelCamel gives a full history of Amazon prices and highlights the highest recorded price, lowest and current. This way shoppers can compare the prices listed to the retailer. It's also how we've found a range of items which are cheaper today compared to their listed Amazon Prime Day 'discounts'.

As a consumer writer who has a habit of comparing prices, these are the products cheaper that are best to buy after an Amazon sale.

Tech products cheaper after Amazon's sale

Starting off with tech products, a popular section of any usual sale day where we've found the biggest price drops the day after Prime. After a quick look on the retailer's 'today's deals' section, we found one high-end laptop £70 cheaper than the already discounted 2023 Prime price.

The Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 Ultra-Thin is now £619.95, £70 less than yesterday's £688 price tag, giving a huge extra saving to those who waited longer. That being said those who bought it during Prime would have still made a £41 saving, now where near as much as the full £111 offer currently listed.

If a smartphone was on your list the next finding will be for you. The Google Pixel 6a is now £14 cheaper than yesterday's Prime rate, but the total saving is a lot bigger when compared to the pre-Prime Day ask, exactly £126 cheaper than before the sale.

Household items cheaper after Prime Day

Household cleaning products fly off the shelves, or sites, during Amazon's sale events but looking at prices it's better to wait until the day after. Hoover is the first brand we've spotted which is even cheaper compared to this week's earlier 'sale' prices, so it won't be a surprise to see rival brands like Shark, Dyson and Proscenic follow.

The Hoover Cordless Vacuum with anti-twist is now £23 cheaper than yesterday's (June 12) Prime Day 'offer', shoppers who pick it up at the current price will get a huge £129 total discount compared to the pre-Prime rate. Fitted with fast charging, integrated tools and an 'anti-wrap' dupe we already had this on our radar as a cheaper Shark alternative.

Moving onto a smart home product we have the Google Nest Thermostat, an already high-end product which helps households reduce energy costs at home, thanks to its range of integrated smart features its price has never been cheap.

Originally listed for £199 this item never dropped during the Prime Day sale, until today (July 13) the day after the huge event. The Google Nest Thermostat is now £40 cheaper at £158.99.

Fashion and Beauty picks cheaper after Amazon's sale

Starting with grooming products the Braun Body Groomer Series 5 has now dropped further to £49.99, despite Amazon's listing it as a lightning deal for £89.99 over Prime, the highest ever listed in its history.

Next, we have the Clinique Happy perfume dropped to its cheapest price in the last 30 days at £26.02, from an original £66. We can't expect retailers to drop the prices on all their products but this scent was one left out of the Prime perfume deals.
