A woman has left people stunned with the before and after transformation of her garden - and it's perfect inspiration as we plan how we'll transform our own outside spaces next summer.

Sharing photos to the Mrs Hinch Made Me Do It Facebook group last summer, Tara Ward's post racked up almost 5,000 likes and hundreds of comments as the space was left unrecognisable.

It shows the garden previously with a lawn where grass was struggling to grow in the shaded space, brown wooden fencing around the border and a chair to sit in the sun.

All of those features were replaced with a new fence painted in grey, concrete slabs on the floor, garden furniture, plants and lighting.

She added two egg chairs, picked up in the Dunelm sale, and a huge knitted blanket from Chun-Kees, along with a black and white patterned outdoor rug from Amazon, The Sun reports.

The fence was decorated with garden garlands she created herself using artificial flowers and leaves from The Range, and was finished with large plant pots and glass candle stands.

Tara, who has more than 10,000 followers on her interior design Instagram account @Ahintofluxe, shared photos with the caption: 'Before and after - tiny outdoor space'.

People commented to praise the new look, as one wrote: "What a transformation. Fantastic."

A second said: "Wow that's beautiful" and another added: "Excellent use of space."

Previously, a dad who used his time in lockdown to transform his neglected garden showed off the results of his hard work - and now people think it looks just like the Love Island villa.

Derry Green, from Merseyside, spent up to 12 hours a day and more than £6,500 to turn the overgrown land into a decking area complete with hot tub, hanging chair, fire pit and log cabin - which sleeps four and has an en suite. You can see it here.
