Top 10 travel essentials to buy on Amazon Prime Day
For two days this week, travellers could save a ton of money on a wide range of travel essentials in the Amazon Prime Day sales event.
With so many great deals to choose from on all the obvious must-haves like suitcases, sun creams and even a new pair of sandals, I thought I'd share some of my favourite Amazon travel buys that accompanied me and my family on many an adventure.
As a mum of two who enjoys exotic beaches just as much as hiking in the hillsides, I have learnt that there are many things we take for granted when we are at home.

Amazon is selling 32 packs of Walkers ready salted crisps for just £10Travel Adaptor
There are few things worse than finding your phone running low and not having the right equipment to charge it.
Whether you are delayed in a faraway airport or chilling out back at the hotel, a travel adaptor is one of the most important pieces of kit you'll need for your next trip.
With plenty of charging cables and the occasional additional electronic gadgets to feed, I am a particular fan of travel adaptors that offer multiple outlets.
This Worldwide Travel Plug Adaptor is a great example of a family-friendly charging station. Featuring a worldwide AC outlet and four USB charging ports, it allows you to charge up to five devices at one time. Lightweight and compact, it's easy to throw in your carry-on, and the universal design makes it suitable for use in Europe, the USA, Spain, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Thailand, Japan, Asia, Australia and other countries.

Travel Pillow
Because there is no way to ever really get comfortable in Economy, a travel pillow can help take the worst of the pain away.
Sitting badly for long periods of time can cause neck strain, but using a travel pillow like this Memory Foam Neck Pillow will keep you sitting upright to alleviate the head nodding problems associated with napping on the go.
There are some very fancy travel pillows to choose from these days, but you can't beat an ergonomic memory foam neck support like this one. With orthopaedic contouring on either side to keep your head up, breathable polyester to stop your feeling all sweaty and soft velvet to rest your cheeks on, the travel pillow can be strapped to the handle of your suitcase when not in use.

Portable scales
A must-have for anyone who isn't fond of travelling light, a handy portable scale will help you stay on the right side of the excess baggage rules.
Easy to use, and compact enough to carry with you, I like this kind of portable digital travel scale as they are accurate enough to let me squeeze in every last pair of pants without going over my luggage allowance.
The LCD panel is easy to read, and the smart tare and lock weight function ensures pinpoint accuracy every time. It also has a handy energy-saving setting meaning it switches itself off after use, which in turn helps to alleviate the risk of it running out of power on the go.

Portable Cable Organiser
I'm not exaggerating when I say how much I love this little portable cable organiser. With lots of little compartments, it is perfect for keeping all of those pesky cables and adapters neatly in one place. In fact, I use mine so often, that I purchased an extra one for the car.
With its protective hardshell design, it stops things from getting squashed on the go, and with double layers, a middle compartment, and a zipper mesh pocket, its got lots of space for a power bank, some cables, earphones, sd cards and other bits and pieces.
There are probably lots of similar cable organisers to choose from, but I really like the compact design of this one.

Packing cubes
These little cubes of goodness will revolutionise the way you pack your suitcase. Available in different shapes and sizes, they help to keep your clothes crease-free and well-organised on the go.
I have a set of six packing cubes that are basic but incredibly useful. They allow me to keep t-shirts, smalls, socks, swimming gear and even shoes neatly packed inside my suitcase and can be stashed in hotel drawers without unpacking.
Many travellers also swear by the upgraded compression packing cubes, that use clever combinations of zippers to squish garments flatter to make those all-important extra inches in their suitcase.
Cheap, reusable and an absolute must-have, you'll soon wonder how you ever travelled without them.

Waterproof Phone Cases
While not technically essential, these are quite fun. Perfect for anyone who loves to take to the water, we use this set of two waterproof phone cases around the pool, in the pool at the beach and out on the water.
UNBREAKcable by name, and very probably unbreakable by nature we've never had any problems with them on the many holidays they've been on. With the ability to protect phones in depths of up to 30 meters, they also feature a safety lock hook to stop water from sneaking in. They also come with detachable lanyard straps to prevent your beloved phone from floating away under the water.
I also have a similar waterproof case for my Kindle Fire 7, making it easy to read my ebook on the Kindle app, or have a cheeky scroll through social media quietly on my own on an inflatable in the pool.

Power Bank
Another absolute essential for keeping connected on the go, a portable power bank will extend the battery life of your phone, tablet or other device in transit.
We have tried many of these over the years, from wafer-thin ones popped in school blazer pockets to trendy coloured ones with matching cables.
All in all, this two-pack of power banks is basic but brilliant and by far the best we have tried, holding enough charge to keep your phone topped up at all times. From festival fields to delays at airports, these have come to the rescue many a time.

Changing robes
Particularly useful if you are planning a getaway in the UK, these brilliant towelling changing robes help to dry off wet bods and maintain their modesty when changing in public places.
We have used these since the kids were little, and they have been very much needed on numerous sandy beaches, around paddling pools, water slides and even in the garden.
Now the kids are older it's mostly us grown-ups who have them, kept in the car for spontaneous dips in the sea and soggy dog walks.

Bluetooth tracker
These things are really clever, and help me to feel less anxious about losing things, especially when we are far from home.
There are lots to choose from but we have these smart tracking devices that can be used to keep track of wallets, luggage, suitcases, bags, and even keys. Water resistant and built to last, they apparently have a Bluetooth range of up to 400 feet, and when you can't find your tag, you can use the "found my" app to locate it.
The "Find My" app also has a useful "left behind" alert that will make a noise when you walk away from something important, stopping suitcases from getting left behind in airport lounges.

Travel jewellery box
This is a little indulgent, but absolutely one of my favourite travel essentials.
Cute and compact, my aged heart-shaped one is similar to these zippered leather-effect jewellery box that selected bits of bling with me when I travel and keeps it safe when I get there. With a separate compartment on the inside, I can keep necklaces untangled and earrings paired together.
There are loads of these delights to choose from on Amazon, available in all shapes, colours and sizes.
