A missing 14-year-old girl has been found at Camp Pendleton Marine barracks - just two weeks after her family claimed she was sold for sex.

The teen was reported missing on June 13 after some of her family claimed she had ran away from her grandmother's house.

Her aunt, Casaundra Perez (see video above), claimed the girl had been sold to a US Marine for sex but she was eventually found at the San Diego Marine, California base on June 28.

A Marine was pictured being led away from the barracks in handcuffs for questioning. The name of the individual has not yet been released.

Captain Chuck Palmer said in a statement: "We can confirm that a Marine with Combat Logistics Battalion 5, 1st Marine Logistics Group was taken into custody for questioning by Naval Criminal Investigative Services on June 28, 2023, as seen on social media July 2, 2023.

"The incident is under investigation, and we will continue to cooperate with NCIS and appropriate authorities."

Ms Perez told authorities her niece, who she claims has learning disabilities, was sold to the Marine for sex trafficking, and that she had run away several times before always returning.

In a video uploaded to TikTok on July 6, she said: "I would just like to preface this video, I did not kill myself, if I go missing or end up murdered the people potentially responsible could possibly be located here at Camp Pendleton."

She claims the military tried to cover-up the story and that everyone at Camp Pendleton allowed the teenager to be put at risk.

The aunt also claims security staff at the camp allowed the man to bring the child to a base.

"The security looked her in the face and allowed this man to bring a minor on to base where he then proceeded to have sex with her," Ms Perez said.

'Due to her age, she could not have given this consent", she said, before claiming someone told her family the Marines were trying to stop the story from coming out.

The aunt said she will release the name of a "military detective" she believes is behind the alleged coverup - but only if her lawyer allows.

She also stated in the video she thinks the military will retaliate against her family - after the Marine was brought in for questioning but has not been charged.

The Naval Criminal Investigative Service said in a statement the investigation is still ongoing.
