Aspiring actor ‘was warned about Kevin Spacey’ before alleged sexual assault
An aspiring actor said he was “warned about Kevin Spacey” before the Hollywood star allegedly sexually assaulted him.
The two-time Oscar winner is on trial at Southwark Crown Court accused of sex offences against four men between 2001 and 2013, which he denies.
On Monday, jurors heard a recording of the alleged victim’s police interview, in which he revealed he had written a letter to Spacey asking for his help to get into acting, and was told by others that Spacey “liked young straight guys“.
He said the American Beauty star had made him feel “weirdly special”, but didn’t know “he was a predator” until he was sexually assaulted at Spacey’s flat.
He told the police officer that the 63-year-old had asked him to meet for a beer after receiving his letter, leaving the alleged victim stunned.

“It made me feel weirdly special because it was someone saying, ‘hey, I’m going to clear out time for you this evening’,” he explained.
He recalled being taken to Spacey’s address, saying: “He said ‘this is my place, do you want to come up?’, to which I said ‘of course’, because it’s Kevin Spacey.”
The duo then “smoked some weed”, and then Spacey “opened up his arms and said ‘come here’.”
Describing what happened, the man said: “He kind of opened.
“Then he started to nuzzle his head … he was just rubbing his head into my crotch – I thought ‘this is incredibly weird’.”
Speaking about the alleged sex act, the man said: “Going to sleep isn’t something I would normally do – it is unusual in my behaviour just to conk out.
“I remember four to five hours later waking up – my belt was still together but my button and my zip were down and he’s just performed (a sex act) on me.”
The alleged victim said he told Spacey “no”, and was then “asked to leave straight away”.
“He said I shouldn’t talk to anyone about what had happened,” before telling police officers that other people had told him Spacey liked “the young straight guys”.

“You just don’t want to annoy someone who is that powerful in the business you are trying to break in to. The social sway he had was massive,” he added.
Spacey, who is accused of sex offences against four men, pleaded not guilty to three counts of indecent assault, three counts of sexual assault and one count of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent.
He also previously denied four further charges of sexual assault and one count of causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent. The trial continues.
