This is the chaotic moment a fight broke out on a Ryanair flight during an alleged row over seats on the plane.

Neil Modwhadia, who was on the flight from Malta to London Stansted on July 3, claimed the brawl began after one of the two male passengers refused to let the other pass.

In the clip filmed by the passenger, someone can be heard telling the two men to stop fighting and saying in the background: "We're never gonna get home."

Screams by fellow passengers can be heard in the footage while someone encourages the men to "calm down". A Ryanair staff member appears to be walking down the cabin in a bid to separate the pair.

Mr Modwhadia said the flight was delayed by two hours due to the incident and everyone was "annoyed".

He said: "The shorter guy on the left is American and had the window seat. The taller man on the right with a cap on is British and had the aisle seat.

"The British man wouldn’t let the American man pass through to get to his window seat and then some words and swears were exchanged before a scuffle broke. The flight was delayed two hours everyone was annoyed."

Ryanair said in a statement: "Two passengers on this flight from Malta to Stansted (3 July) became disruptive ahead of take-off. Cabin crew diffused the situation before the aircraft departed safely for Stansted following a minor delay."

London Stansted Airport did not comment on the story. The Mirror has contacted Essex Police for comment.
