Roma and Adidas have turned back the clock with the release of their new home shirt for the upcoming season.

The Serie A side have teamed up with Adidas for the first time in 30 years to produce a stylish take on the famous jersey worn by the club in the 1992/1993 season. That campaign is fondly remembered as the year club legend, Franceso Totti made his bow for the club. Most notably, the shirt heralds the return of the 'Lupetto' in place of the now traditional AS Roma crest.

Celebrated as the 'Eternal Future', Roma said of the launch: "Thirty years after the last time, the three-striped sports brand returns to the AS Roma jersey. Inspired by the uniform of the season of 1992/93, the new home kit wants to celebrate the past, with a look towards the future."

The ‘Lupetto’, the iconic wolf head emblem, returns to the strip on the left, having been originally conceived by designer Piero Gratton in 1978. The jersey also includes a drop tail hem and is adorned with a detail on the back that takes inspiration from the Roma faithful in the form of one of the most famous declarations of support for the club: “Daje Roma Daje.”

The kit is a throwback to the more subtle and streamlined jerseys of yesteryear where the iconic Roma red is only complimented by the distinct Adidas three stripe in yellow while the heart of the shirt only features the Adidas logo and the Lupetto. If there's one element of the kit that breaks the simplicity, it's the striking v-neck which also recalls the famous kit from 92/93.
