Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after train hits him and child
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following an incident where he and a two-year-old boy were hit by a train.
British Transport Police officers were called to Garrowhill station in Glasgow shortly before 7.30pm on Sunday following reports of two people on the tracks.
They were taken to hospital where they both remain. Police said the child's injuries are minor and the man is in a non-life-threatening condition.
The 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on Monday evening and remains under police observation in hospital.
A female passenger on board the train had described the horror of learning the boy and man had been hit.

She said: "There was a lot of running and commotion and we saw a small boy being brought out from under the train.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at Garrowhill Train Station on Sunday"It was a really horrible sight, he was limp, but there didn't appear to be any blood.
"I watched as the police held him and several of them gathered around the boy. Shortly after I could tell he was thankfully alive.
"I had assumed that was the end of it but then a man was pulled out from under the train and was clearly unresponsive. Police began CPR on the man."
The incident occurred at around 7.30pm. Soon afterwards, several police cars and ambulances arrived at the station, which sits between the Garrowhill and Barlanark areas of the city.
Detective Chief Inspector Marc Francey said: "This was a shocking but isolated incident and we are not looking for anyone else in connection.
"Specially trained officers are supporting the young boy's family and it is thankfully now believed he will make a full recovery.
"Our investigation continues to establish the full circumstances of the incident and we are making a number of enquiries.
