Actor Max Beesley has recalled a "terrifying" gunpoint robbery that left him "frozen" with fear.

The acclaimed actor, who starred opposite Meghan Markle in Netflix legal drama Suits, has opened up on the traumatising event that happened some years ago whilst the actor was in London's Ladbroke Grove.

Max, 52, has revealed he can still recall the experience vividly as he found himself unable to move or act as the robbery took place.

Now starring in a new series for Apple TV+ about armed terrorists on a plane, he's been given a stark reminder of the robbery from years ago.

Discussing the scary event, Max said: “I remember years ago I got robbed in Ladbroke Grove at gunpoint. I was in a chair with a gun at the back of my head."

He continued to the Daily Star: "I remember thinking if that ever happened, I’ll go to work and I’ll take care of business. And I completely froze.

"Even if I’d had a weapon, I’d have said, 'Brother I’ve got a gun here, man, do you want to take it'’. I was terrified."

The terrifying recollection comes as Max stars as DI Daniel O'Farrel in the new Apple TV+ series Hijack, which also stars Idris Elba as part of its seven-part series which airs on Apple TV+ from June 28.

Highlighting the new series, Max appeared on Good Morning Britain on ITV earlier today (June 27) but found himself having to dodge questions from host Ed Balls about his experience of working with Meghan Markle.

Meghan, who starred as Rachel Zane before she met Prince Harry and left the Netflix series in 2018, and Max both appear in season three.

However, Max was quick to tell the ITV morning show that he hadn't worked much with Meghan, as he praised her as an "excellent actress".

Attempting to dodge the questions on Meghan, Max added: "Well I did most of my work with Donna Paulsen, Sarah Rafferty who plays Donna is a terrific actress as well.

“It was quite daunting going on that show as well because I was meant to be the British version of Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht).

“I started watching the first season of Suits, watching Gabriel and I was like, ‘Oh my God, he’s both a terrific actor and also an incredibly handsome chap."

Keen to push for more information on Meghan, Ed quipped: “So you’re not going to tell us anything about what Meghan Markle was like?”

“Absolutely nothing, whatsoever," Max replied.

As the interview drew to a close, Ed tried again before Max once again diverted conversation away from Meghan Markle.

Max stars in Hijack premiering June 28, 2023 on Apple TV+.
