Olivia Newton-John's daughter, Chloe Lattanzi, has spoken out about her mother for the first time since she died in August last year, revealing the final words the late actress spoke to her before she died.

The actress, who was known for her role as Sandy in 1978's Grease, died aged 73 from breast cancer.

Chloe, who Olivia shared with her first husband, Matt Lattanzi, has now given an emotional interview in which she discussed losing her mother.

She was joined by Olivia’s widower, John Easterling, with the pair opening up about life after Olivia’s death and how the family have been coping with their loss.

Speaking to Today, Chloe, 37, spoke about her mother’s final days, saying: “The last words she could say to me was, ‘My sunshine’. And right before she lost her ability to speak, she was making jokes.

“She's my mama. She's not Olivia Newton-John to me, but I'm so glad that she was Olivia Newton-John for so many people."

She added that support from her mother’s fans helped throughout the grieving process, comparing it to a “big hug from the universe”, and that she felt grateful for those who “reached out and extended their heart”.

John said he felt his late wife's presence “late at night, early in the morning”.

He said: “I'll just be walking around the house or throwing the ball for the dogs and just speak to her out loud.

“Every day, I miss Olivia terribly. And yet every day I'm really super grateful that I had 15 wonderful years with this extraordinary human being.”

He also spoke about how Olivia still managed to bring light and love during “her most difficult of times”.

The actress’s battle with cancer came to an end in August 2022, after she bravely fought the disease for decades.
