Kelly Clarkson trashes ex-husband in new album two years after divorce
Kelly Clarkson has taken a few brutal digs at her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock in the tracks of her new album. her recent album Chemistry.
The 41-year-old American Idol star was married to 46-year-old music producer and executive Brandon for eight years - tying-the-knot back in 2013 and divorcing in 2021.
The singer has now released her brand new album, titled Chemistry, which is her first in two years, and the first original album she has released since the collapse of her marriage.
Across the 14 tracks which make up her tenth studio album, Kelly touches on her messy divorce.
Although divorced in 2021, the pair split in 2020 after being married for seven years, and they share a daughter River Rose, eight, and a son Remington Alexander, seven, together.

An insider told Us Weekly: “They clashed on so many levels, and being in quarantine together [during the coronavirus pandemic] heightened their problems to the point of no return."
While in her latest album, Kelly makes cutting remarks like: "If I could escape all this gossip and shame, oh, I would" and “I bet you feel the absence of my love every night."
In one breakup anthem on the project, she snarls: "Sure, you can have the towels / You can take my money / Drag my name ’round town / I don’t mind, I changed it anyway.”
Sharing the album art on Instagram, she wrote: "Having chemistry with someone is an incredible, and overwhelming, feeling. It’s like you have no choice in the matter.

Speaking frankly on Angie Martinez's IRL podcast, Kelly shared a true insight into her utter heartbreak after the divorce.
"It rips you apart, whenever you fall in love with someone and it doesn't work," she said. "I think the thing about divorce — especially having it publicised, and people thinking they know the whole thing, the hardest part of that is, like, it wasn't an overnight decision.
"Anyone that's been divorced knows that was years in trying to make, not make it work – I never wanted to be part of something to 'make it work'."

Kelly added: "I wanted to make it beautiful, I wanted to make it awesome, I wanted to make it everything it possibly could be, and sometimes that just doesn't happen."
