The agent of Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi has criticised Kylian Mbappe's mother after setting up an agency with her superstar son.

Fayza Lamari and Mbappe, 24, are reportedly in talks with a number of players across French football over joining their newly-founded agency, and rumours recently began to swirl suggesting that Hakimi would be, too. But the Moroccan right-back's current agent, Alejandro Camano, has denied such claims, instead slamming Lamari over a "lack of respect."

"We are very surprised that just because she is the mother of an important player, she can interfere in the market," Camono told AS in quotes carried by L'Equipe, who've reported the story of Mbappe and his mother's agency. "Achraf is part of the Footfeel [his current agency] family.

"He has been convinced by the project for many years and he has a personal relationship with Kylian, which we respect, we like him for that. Being the mother of a player isn't enough. For me, it shows a lack of respect for the profession.

"Fayza Lamari is a business that has nothing other than Kylian Mbappe. Her importance on the market is non-existent, she has no experience, no completed deals, and no penetration into the market."

It's evident that Hakimi won't be linking up with Mbappe off the pitch any time soon, but the PSG forward and Lamari still have others targets lined up. Lyon hotshot Rayan Cherki is set to become one of their first clients, having reached an agreement over the past few weeks.

Meanwhile, Mbappe's own future is up in the air. The 24-year-old has entered the final 12 months of his PSG contract and the French giants want to sell him this summer in order to recoup a sizeable transfer fee.

Mbappe insists that he'll decide his future next summer when PSG would be risking losing him on a free. Real Madrid are the most likely suitors, having made a €200million (£172m) bid for the France international in the summer of 2021 and further attempting to sign him last year.

After informing PSG that he wouldn't be triggering his one-year extension clause, which would keep him at the Parc des Princes until 2025, Mbappe told Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport: "I didn't ask either to be sold or to go to Real Madrid. I just confirmed that I don't want to activate the extra year foreseen in the contract. We have never talked about a renewal with PSG, but I'm happy to stay here next season."

In a frosty press conference ahead of France's Euro 2024 qualifying clash with Gibraltar, the irritated Frenchman affirmed: "I didn't think a letter killed anyone or that I had offended anyone."
