Arctic Monkeys, Guns N’ Roses and Elton John are just some of the big names Glastonbury Festival-goers will see this weekend at Worthy Farm but fans think they have already ‘worked out’ who will be topping the bill next year.

Each year Glastonbury tickets sell out before the line-up is announced and this stint has been no different.

Rumours circulate throughout the year as to who could be heading to Worthy Farm as fans desperately try to work out the line-up before it’s released by Glastonbury following the initial ticket sale.

Fans are known for looking up their favourite artist and working out whether a gap in a tour could suggest a Worthy Farm visit.

This year, Glastonbury revellers enjoying the Foo Fighters – who were billed as The Churnups on the line-up in a bid to keep their set a secret – spotted a huge clue that left them convinced the American band will be back to headline next year.

During their set, frontman Dave Grohl told the audience he was thrilled to be back after headlining in 2017.

As he introduced the song Everlong, he hinted: “We usually sing this song as a goodbye because we don’t like saying goodbye because if you come back, we’ll come back.”

Dave gestured to the crowd asking if they’d “come back” to which he received high cheers.

“We’re coming back next year for a tour,” he added implying the Foo Fighters would be in the UK when Glastonbury takes place.

Festival-goers all felt certain Dave was telling the crowd the band would be back next year.

One member of the crowd said: “He’s just told Glastonbury he wants to headline again, the Foo Fighters are coming back next year I’m certain of it.”

Another added: “He’s told us he’s touring next year, I wonder if Glastonbury might be one of the places they headline.”

Dave went on to pay an emotional tribute to the band’s late drummer Taylor Hawkins, who tragically died last year.

Foo Fighters were not announced as part of the line-up but instead a mysterious act named The Churnups appeared on the Friday bill for the Pyramid stage before Royal Blood.

The band shared a cryptic message on social media in the weeks leading up to Glastonbury, which many fans “worked out” was a sign they were the mysterious band.
