With its innovative formula and unique brush design, promises to deliver ‘full volume and a limitless length look’, which is unique in itself as mascara’s tend to offer one or the other, proving that the lash game has been forever changed by the American beauty brand.
Boots annual 70% off sale is returning with some deals already availableThe packaging is nice in a metallic lilac colour, and the ‘flex tower’ brush is the plastic comb style, which is my preferred applicator compared to the bristly type. I applied one layer from root to tip and was impressed with the flexibility of the tapered wand as it worked to capture even the smallest of lashes.
Maybelline said: “ from every angle. Our exclusive Flex Tower mascara brush bends to volumise and extend every single lash from root to tip. Washable mascara formula infused with bamboo extract and fibres for long, full lashes that never get weighed down.”
When I pulled out the brush, it wasn’t crammed with product, but has a nice, even coating. It is, however, quite a wet formula, so not one that you want to sneeze straight after using. I’ve found that it does dry down to the perfect consistency after a week or so of regular use, so even if you’re not keen on the first go, it’s well worth the perseverance.
That said, you can work the formula to your advantage if you work quickly. Instead of letting it dry between coats, add two to three layers of mascara to achieve both jaw-dropping length and volume.
My lashes looked longer than they truly are, thanks to the that offer weightless length and thickness, without looking all spidery. They didn’t stick together or clump up to leave me looking like a 90s throwback, nor did I get it all over my face in the application process either, which ticks some pretty big boxes for me.
Even adding it to my lower lashes - Gen Z, please don’t come for me - it didn’t transfer onto my under eye, and left me with brighter, larger-looking peepers with fluttery lashes. What more can you ask for from a mascara that

One said: “My eyelashes are not very long, but after using this, (3 coats on each lash) I could not believe the length of my lashes. The product does not leave your lashes clumpy but long and naturally looking. So I will be ditching all the other mascara that I have paid so much for and will be sticking with this one in fact I am in the process of ordering another one.”
Another compared it to a TooFaced mascara that retails at £25, writing: “This mascara is amazing quality - very similar to the TooFaced mascara which is far far more expensive than this one. An amazing dupe.”
While a third loved the look, but found it a bit tricky to remove, saying: “I cannot praise this product enough. I have naturally long, curly lashes and this mascara gets me compliments everywhere I go. To the point where people think I've used a serum or have extensions. Is a bit harder to get off than other mascaras and I seem to go through it quicker than normal (my mum found this too) but would definitely recommend 100%!”
The formula definitely is on the more challenging side to remove, but nowhere near as bad as the time I almost cried trying to get Aldi’s waterproof mascara off. The Maybelline product isn’t a face-wipe-and-go situation and does require the attention of a double cleanse to make it a much more effortless job.
When it comes to mascara, I’ve never really stayed loyal to a brand. Rimmel, Benefit, Collection, No7 - I’ve tried dozens and nothing wooed me enough to lock them down as a holy grail. But this
