I, like many of you, am looking forward to Glastonbury festival this weekend.

The BBC production team is already there, bringing a huge range of music performances from the world’s most loved music festival to our millions of listeners and viewers.

For every artist, performing at Glastonbury is a lifelong ambition.

When Adele first visited Worthy Farm as a kid, she promised herself one day she’d perform onstage, and Beyonce said that her Glastonbury set was one of the highlights of her life, so the pressure is on for us to capture the on stage action in the best way possible.

Right now, production teams are finalising broadcast plans, following weeks of planning for broadcasting 24 hour coverage for TV, radio, BBC Sounds and BBC iPlayer, all delivered by our fantastic presenters, including Clara Amfo, Lauren Laverne, Jack Saunders and Jo Whiley.

As the iPlayer teams in London are uploading headline sets at 3am, the breakfast show teams are starting their working day. The days are long, but it’s our most rewarding weekend of the year.

Our 2022 coverage saw a record 42 million streams across iPlayer and Sounds, and this year we have over 40 hours of coverage across TV and over 85 hours of live radio.

Once again, Pyramid Stage performances will be broadcast in Ultra High-Definition for the ultimate viewing experience. I’m proud that this year, all the Pyramid Stage performances from Friday to Sunday will be streamed live in British Sign Language, making our offer more accessible than ever before.

And Glasto-Cam on iPlayer gives everyone, wherever you are, a birds eye view of the site.

For the millions who aren’t at Worthy Farm, Glastonbury at Home is a joy that has grown over the years, as we provide the perfect weekend of live music without having to travel to Somerset!

I’m sure the weekend’s highlight will be Elton John’s final ever UK performance so don’t miss it live on BBC One and Radio 2 on Sunday night as he performs some of the most-loved songs in pop.

Music has an ageless, universal appeal, so whether you love Lizzo’s party vibes, Lewis Capaldi’s brilliant song-writing or Guns N’ Roses rock classics, there will be something for everyone this weekend on the BBC.
