We now know Amazon will be slashing hundreds of pounds off products in its annual Prime Day sale this July, as thousands of shoppers get ready to bag a bargain. Ahead of the two official sale dates the retailer is celebrating the run-up by offering 'secret' sales across selected products, including its own Amazon tech products, Samsung and Garmin.

Prime Day will take place across July 11 and July 12 as one of the biggest sales events of the year, tech isn't the only sector either as a host of beauty, fashion, household and garden products can be found for a fraction of the price. In last year's sale shoppers could save £800 on Samsung phones and find huge deals on the iPhone 13, this year is proving to be no different.

Its recent price drops are proof that shoppers don't always have to wait until the scramble of the official sale to make a saving. In the 24 hours since Amazon confirmed its 2023 Prime Day sale dates, we've spotted huge discounts on products, with savings of as much as £250, that we've seen so far.

We'll be focusing on tech products today for shoppers looking to get a deal on a new phone, smartwatch, tablet or home device. The world of tech and gadgets isn't for everyone, but we've still got you covered. You can find our roundup of early Amazon beauty deals, fashion deals, and even a selection of outdoor equipment deals just in time for the UK summer festival season.

Starting off with the three biggest discounts we've spotted so far, up to £220 off selected Garmin products, £46 off Amazon's own Echo Dot bringing the price to just £8.99 for the device and more than £400 off the Galaxy S22 Ultra smartphone. Samsung continues to be a popular feature in Amazon sales, as shoppers have managed to get discounts throughout the year.

It's also worth noting that any shoppers who have their eye on a Samsung product can get up to £200 off the listed price, thanks to a separate cashback deal offered by the tech company. This S23 Ultra is currently listed on Amazon for £1,399 (the standard price) but shoppers can get £200 off the price, taking it down to £1,199.

Money-off Amazon tech - Echo Dots, Echo Flex and Fire TVs

Of course, Amazon's own tech devices are in the spotlight of the sales too, and whilst it's thought bigger price drops will be introduced closer to the July 11 and July 12 dates, there are still deals for those who can't wait. Moving on from the £8.99 Echo Dot, Amazon also has a deal on its Echo Show 15 which is reduced to £284.

Another big discount can be found on the Echo Flex, a plug-in device which lets you connect one Alexa-controlled Echo Dot to multiple rooms in the house, without the need of buying three Echo Dots (for example). Originally it retails for £24.99 but we've spotted its 'hidden' 60% offer which brings the price down to just £9.99.

Another Amazon tech deal we've spotted is its price drop on Fire TVs, which are often batted as a more affordable version of higher-end brand products, like the Sky Glass TVs. Amazon's Fire TV 2 Series is now on offer for £199 compared to its original £249.99 price point and is the cheapest TV across Amazon's Fire range.

The set comes in either a 32-inch or 40-inch screen size and goes up to £229 (reduced from £299.99) for customers looking for a bigger display. Also on offer is the Fire TV 50-inch 4 Series reduced from £499.99 down to £399.99, one of its first price drops since only launching in the UK this year after success in the United States.

How to make sure you're paying the best price on Amazon tech

As with any sale, the prices of items are likely to fluctuate, which could make the difference between making a £100 saving or not. Especially with tech items as we usually see the biggest savings on phones, tablets, and smartwatches due to the usually high retail price.

If you have your eye on a product but aren't quite sure whether to buy it at its current sale price or wait to see if it drops further closer to the official Prime Day we'd recommend you do the following things.

First is to keep an eye on the daily lightning deals, you can set up notifications on wishlist items, as the biggest discounts will be posted here. You never know it may be the latest iPhone 14 Pro, Google Pixel Fold or Garmin Watch that you had you eye on.

Next, we urge all shoppers to regularly look at the price checker site CamelCamelCamel, if you've not heard of this tip before. It's a price comparison specifically made for Amazon, and lets you see the price history. This way you can check current 'sale' items to see if they've been sold at a cheaper price before.

It's also a good tool to look at the 2022 pricing habits and it could indicated when Amazon are likely to impose further discounts. Like this Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 which is reduced by £50 to £169, it's a relatively good deal on the affordable model but comparing prices we can see its lowest price was during Black Friday last year when it cost £155.
