Highfield Princess likely to run in Jubilee four days after King's Stand defeat
John Quinn will give Highfield Princess “a very light exercise” on Thursday morning before deciding on whether to declare his star mare for Saturday’s Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes.
The six-year-old came within one length of a fourth Group 1 triumph when second to Bradsell in Tuesday’s King’s Stand Stakes.
And Quinn is optimistic Highfield Princess will be fit for a quick return to the fray for the final top-level prize of the meeting.
“She ran great and we were pleased with her this morning,” said the trainer.
“She will do a bit of very light exercise in the morning - a leg stretch - and then we will make our minds up but at the moment we’re leaning towards running.

“In the past she ran a lot last year and she thrived on racing and the great thing is she doesn’t have to travel because we didn’t bring her home.”
Having won Deauville’s Prix Maurice de Gheest over six and a half furlongs, Jason Hart’s mount stepped back to the minimum trip to land the Nunthorpe Stakes at York and the Flying Five Stakes at the Curragh.
“The Form Book says she’s as good as six as at five,” added Quinn.
