Lucy Spraggan will be sharing her story in an explosive new memoir as X Factor continues to be hit with complaints.

The singer, who rose to fame in the competition in 2012, will go into great detail about what she experienced on the programme.

In recent months, many stars – including Rebecca Ferguson – have slammed the show and opened up about their experiences.

And now, Lucy took to social media to reveal the cover of her tell-all memoir, Process: Finding my way through.

"This is such an important moment for me," she said. "I knew that I was going to write this book for a very long time but I couldn’t write it until I was ready.

"Now, just a month before it comes out, I get to share the cover with you. The support I have already received from you has been incredible and has affirmed my readiness.

"It’s the first time I’ll be sharing my story, and my process, in my own words."

Last year, Lucy said she was fed up of giving the same "concealed answer" about her time on X Factor.

"Up until then, I'm pretty much done giving the same concealed answers, I'm ready to talk about that in-depth and how I moved on from that," she said to Mirror.

"It'll all be in my lovely little book, which isn't very little. There's nothing that I want to say that isn't going to be written in my book."

It comes as Rebecca – who appeared on X Factor in 2010 – revealed she has been campaigning for more welfare checks and behind-the-scenes work on reality shows to protect those who enter as contestants.

The star reached out to broadcasting watchdog Ofcom to conduct a full investigation into reality TV shows.

Rebecca claims she was "refused" by ITV and Ofcom and no investigation had taken place, with her concerns "fobbed off".

In her email, she claimed that contestants were "forced into contracts without independent legal advice," adding that the ITV show gave contestants a solicitor, they are "mentally manipulated and abused", "reduced to tears due to pressure/bullying", "forced to sign to a management company with no freedom of choice," before adding that if they said no, they would be eliminated from the programme.

A spokesperson for X Factor told the Mirror: "Duty of care is of the utmost importance to us, and we always take contributor welfare extremely seriously."
