Black Mirror creator says sixth season is about 'how f***ed up people are'
Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker has revealed the true meaning behind the disturbing Netflix series.
The series, which released its sixth instalment last week, is made up of an anthology of episodes which each explore a twisted, high-tech multiverse where humanity's greatest innovations and darkest instincts collide.
Episodes have featured Hollywood stars like Miley Cyrus, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright and more recently Salma Hayek, who starred in Joan is Awful, the first episode of the new series.
In Joan is Awful, which follows an average woman who is shocked to discover a global streaming platform has launched a prestige TV drama adaptation of her life - in which she is portrayed by Salma.

"To be honest, the dark sides of technology which are shown in sci-fi movies or even in @blackmirror are made by humans who are mentally sick," one wrote.
"This is not the fault of tech & Ai, rather these movies are working as an alarm for the evil deeds that human can do!"

A third tweeted: "Y’all are who Black Mirror gets their inspiration from cause y’all dumb as. This was season was actually good because it was about people and not about technology," and creator Charlie Brooker confirmed this take.
Speaking to Games Radar+, he reminded audiences that the show is designed to make people to look closer within themselves, not technology.

"I found that a bit frustrating partly because I always felt like, 'Well, the show isn't saying tech is bad, the show is saying people are f**ked up'.
"So, you know, get it right," he concluded.
