One of Amazon's biggest sale events of the year is just around the corner, as the retailer gears up to host its 2023 Prime Day sale, which has been confirmed to take place this July. In the event shoppers can expect to find thousands of discounts across the latest tech, beauty, household and fashion items.

The official two-day sale will run across July 11 and July 12 where it'll launch its biggest discounts for subscribed Prime shoppers, hence the name. On top of the scheduled event, it won't be a surprise to see rival retailers cut costs to compete with products listed on Amazon.

Brands including Ninja, Dyson, Apple, Samsung and outdoor Ooni are featured throughout Amazon's sales, and having covered the price drops over the last few events this year is expected to be no different. But the deals aren't always the easiest to find, and the difference between getting the best price or not is often down to how well consumers know Amazon's site.

Just recently the online retail giant cut prices across its own brand of tech, from Echo Dots, Kindles, Fire Tablets and RIng Doorbells, although it was clear to all shoppers. The 'hidden' sale prices could only be found by those who manually entered the full product name and did not feature on the main homepage.

The upcoming Amazon Prime Day sale is likely to be different with more attention based on the top brands, but it's not always guaranteed. To help shoppers find the best price we've rounded up the 'essential' pages shoppers should look at in a sale; from well-known lightning deals to its subscribe and save tool and warehouse deals.

What are Amazon Lightning Deals?

This is where shoppers can find the 'best deals' of the day, during huge sale events, clicking into this section of the website and filtering the search by 'saving' will get shoppers the best prices. If you've never shopped in a fast-paced Prime Day sale before you have to be quick as lightning deals don't tend to stick around for long.

It's similar to the everyday 'today's deals' section, which shoppers can browse through each day, even during non-sales but the price drops only stay available for a couple of hours. Once the product has ran out of stock it is not brought back at the reduced price.

The 'Today's Deals' section

The majority of shoppers will be familiar with this page as its where the best prices are posted to each day, no matter a sale or not.

During the Prime Day sale shoppers can use this section to filter the offers in order of highest discount, by product or by brand. It's a way to get to the best price quickly without having to scroll through multiple third party prices.

The current 'today's deals' section includes 30% off gardening tools, garden furniture and fun items like paddling pools and slip n' slides as the hot UK weather continues.

Amazon's 'subscribe and save' section

It does exactly as the name says 'on the tin', giving a discount to shoppers who sign up to buy multiple orders of one product.

The 'subscribe' option can be found on the majority of Amazon's beauty and toiletry products, where shoppers can set up a monthly delivery of a specific item. The benefit of doing so reduces the price compared to if you were to buy the item as a 'one off'.

It's mainly found on household items shoppers are likely to re-order; toilet roll, cleaning products, and toiletry items are often seen with this option the most. Like this pack of Baylis and Harding hand wash, the pack of three is priced at £6.75 for the normal shopper or £6.41 for those who subscribe and save.

Shoppers who choose this option can cancel the subscription at any time, if not it comes with the added ease of re-delivery each month without having to log on and order the items. Those who ordered the same pack of Baylis and Harding hand wash for six months (for example) would save £2.58 overall.

It may not sound like a lot but when done on a handful of household staples it save shoppers a lot of money in the long run, and can be combined with additional sales like offers during the upcoming 2023 Prime Day.
