Britney Spears fans 'floored' after discovering hit was inspired by TV vet
Britney Spears fans were left 'floored' after they discovered her hit song Toxic was inspired by an Irish TV vet.
It is one of the American singer's biggest tracks, where she hit back at a dangerous and addictive lover.
The chart-topper released the hit back in 2003, but many fans are only just discovering the unlikely source of inspiration behind the track.
In an unimaginable revelation, the man Toxic inspired could be Supervet Dr Noel Fitzpatrick.
The song was co-written by Cathy Dennis, who actually dated Noel, and wrote the track the year they split.
Alyssa Milano 'apologises to Britney' as she's called out for 'bullying' tweet"The man who inspired the Britney Spears track Toxic was someone that the song’s co-writer Cathy Dennis had been dating in the early 2000s, who broke up with her in 2003: Noel Fitzpatrick.
"'It’s unlikely you’d have known who he was at the time (unless you had a sick spaniel) but he’s better known to most people nowadays as Channel 4 ’s Supervet!," Pop B*tch wrote.
Noel and Cathy are said to have met when she took her beloved Labrador Charlie to his veterinary surgery.
It's not the first time the revelation has been thrown around, as Holly Willoughby even grilled the Supervet on This Morning.
"Are you who that song is written about? Is it you? Please say yes," she asked.
Noel replied: "You may have to ask Kylie Minogue whether 'I Can't Get You Out Of My Head' is written about me."
Phillip Schofield joked: "You clearly have an influence."
Kylie had turned down Toxic, before it was offered to Britney.
Fans couldn't believe the unbelievable source of inspiration and took to social media to share their thoughts.
"Found this fact out this week that it is a song written about C4 "The Supervet" Noel Fitzpatrick by Cathy Dennis. Blew my mind. Ace show, btw," said one.
