Liverpool will kick off their 2023/24 season at Stamford Bridge against Mauricio Pochettino’s new-look Chelsea.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will travel to London for their opening match against the Blues on Sunday, August 13. Liverpool will be hoping to start the campaign on the front foot after making a stuttering start last season.

The Reds began the 2022/23 campaign in west London, drawing 2-2 against Fulham and things didn’t get much better with a 1-1 home draw against Crystal Palace then followed by a 2-1 defeat against Manchester United at Old Trafford. Despite appearing to then kick into gear with a 9-0 thrashing of Bournemouh, Klopp’s side never really recovered.

They finished fifth in the Premier League after rallying late on, but could not secure Champions League qualification. After a rebuild over the summer transfer window, Klopp will aim to hit the ground running this time around.

After the trip to Chelsea, Liverpool host Bournemouth at Anfield on Saturday, August 19 before another tough away game against Newcastle to finish off August.

The notable fixtures for the diary come later in the season, with the first Merseyside Derby coming against Everton at Anfield on Saturday, October 21. The first match versus Manchester United comes at home on Saturday, December 16 and is followed by Arsenal at Anfield a week later.

Boxing Day brings a trip to newly-promoted Burnley, while Liverpool are at home to Chelsea on New Year’s Eve. After another gruelling season, the Reds conclude their campaign at Anfield against Wolves on May 19.
