Proud Kate Ferdinand came over all emotional as her adorable son Cree continues to bond with his teenage step brother.

Former TOWIE star Kate, 31, is stepmum to husband Rio Ferdinand's three children, Lorenz, 16, Tate, 14, and Tia 11.

She shares two-year-old son Cree with the footballer legend and is pregnant with their daughter, who is due to arrive next month.

The toddler and Tate have clearly been spending a lot of time together.

The teen was hand-in-hand with the little lad, making sure he arrived at nursery safely.

Kate was so happy to see them getting close as they both wore shorts and a t-shirt out and about this morning.

She captioned the Instagram photo with a snap from behind: "Work experience for Tate today and nursery for Cree.

"One of my favourite things to do is to just sit and watch their relationship grow."

She'll be even more pleased that they're getting so close after the family home became a little quieter.

In April, Kate revealed Lorenz is no longer living in the family home in Kent, after moving to a different part of the country to pursue a career in football.

Following in the footsteps of his father, Lorenz has signed for Brighton & Hove Albion under-18's team as their goalkeeper.

Speaking on podcast Blended, she shares with her husband Rio: "I don’t know if anyone knows this. He doesn’t live at home at the moment. He’s living with another family.

Rio then clarified: "Because he’s playing football."

Kate added: "I was devastated when he moved out. It’s a real big thing, I was emotional. I miss him so much. We still see him twice a week but it’s taken a lot of getting used to

On the podcast, the couple further opened up about the difficulties that they faced introducing Kate to Rio's children, who lost their mother Rebecca Ellison to breast cancer in 2015.

Rio talked of how he was "visualising different scenarios" where he would walk in and see Kate with the kids, which made him realise that everything had been worth it with her.

He spoke about Kate doing Tia's hair or cuddling with her, sharing the same sense of humour with Tate and getting Loren to open up "when he wasn't like that before".

He said: "When you look at things like that, there's a lot of the yards that have been had and been done, over this time - it's been good."

Kate has admitted she's "emotional" thinking about Rio's late wife as she prepares to give birth.

"I feel really emotional about the kids' mum not being here and what she was going through because she's not with her kids now.

"I'm feeling emotional about Tia being pregnant and her mum not being here... All these emotions are flying through my head, but I think it's all just related to being pregnant and becoming a mother figure and looking at everyone around me and how it affects me and them."
