EastEnders star teases scene to look out for 'confirming' Christmas victim
EastEnders actor Navin Chowdhry has revealed details of a scene which will 'confirm' the identity of the Christmas victim.
One male resident of Walford will die this Christmas on Sharon's wedding day. The six women - Denise (Diane Parish), Kathy (Gillian Taylforth), Linda (Kellie Bright), Sharon (Letitia Dean), Stacey (Lacey Turner) and Suki ( Balvinder Sopal ) - are standing around the body, but who is the victim? Did they die or were they killed - and if they were murdered, who is responsible?
We know nothing about the victim other than they were wearing cufflinks - and now Navin, who plays BBC soap villain Nish Panesar, has teased there will be a huge scene in the coming weeks which 'confirms' the person's identity.
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, he said: "I am aware that Nish is the number one contender to die at Christmas. I think the main clue is to follow the cufflinks. There's some stuff we filmed recently about the cufflinks so look out for that and follow the cufflinks."
The cufflinks were shown during the flashforward episode, with fans previously convinced they know who will die after claiming they had been shown onscreen in previous episodes. In one moment that aired earlier this year, Phil was seen wearing a suit and a cufflink which looks a lot like the one shown in the flashforward scene - so could Phil be the one to die?
EastEnders' Jake Wood's snap of son has fans pointing out the pair's likenessAt the time, one viewer penned: "If they've zoomed in on a cufflink that Phil has repeatedly clearly worn onscreen - and it actually is Phil in the end, then they are the most advanced trolls in TVLand and I doff my cap to them."
"We’ve seen Phil wear the cufflinks, so it’s Phil or he loans them out. Sharon in a wedding dress- Phil could’ve got back with her & kept the wedding date when he was supposed to marry Kat, or maybe differences settled & it’s double wedding," a second mused.
Show boss Chris Clenshaw has teased there are multiple clues in the flashforward scene - if fans look close enough.
"I’m not going to give anything away that the episode hasn’t already given, but what I will say is there were clues in there. Did you look closely? I urge everyone to re-watch the scene and look at every detail," he said.
"There’s also a few treats in the scene if you look hard enough. What I’d also say is that a lot can happen in Walford between February and December – circumstances can change, relationships can change, loyalties can change – so what you may suspect now could be somewhat different as we make our way through 2023 and head towards Christmas."
