Tom Brady has been told he has a future as a Hollywood star after bringing the curtain down on his glorious NFL career.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion called time on his playing days in February and he has since invested in the Las Vegas Raiders, effectively confirming he will not make another comeback after his first retirement lasted just a few weeks before returning for one more season last year.

Former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers star Brady already has big plans for his life after the NFL, with a 10-year, $375million (£298m) broadcasting deal with Fox already agreed, and the 45-year-old is involved in a variety of businesses including his clothing brand.

But Brady has been told he could have opportunities as an actor, too, after impressing co-star Ron Funches on the set of the film 80 For Brady, which stars Jane Fonda and tells the story of four friends who make the trip to Houston to watch the Patriots' iconic Super Bowl win over the Atlanta Falcons in 2017, in which New England famously trailed 28-3 before coming back to win in overtime.

"The camera loves Tom Brady," Funches told The Sun. "He's just a charming, handsome man.

"And if he wants to do remakes of romance novels, you telling me that Tom Brady isn't going to be a number one choice for women throughout the middle of the country and especially in New England for them to want to be a romantic lead? He could do that easily.

“He was surprisingly just generous and enjoyable to be around. Also, acting was new to him, so he was a little bit skittish and worried about it himself.

"But to him getting confidence in it, having people like Jane Fonda to lean on, is going to make that easier for you. So I think if he wants to act, he can act."

Brady retired for the second time on February 1 after the Bucs were eliminated by the Dallas Cowboys in the wildcard round of the playoffs. His final campaign was not the fairytale he had hoped for, with injuries across the roster making it a season of struggle for Tampa.

Rumours swirled in the weeks that followed that Brady could come out of retirement again, but he told Sports Illustrated on June 1: "I am certain I am not playing again. I have tried to make that clear and I hate to profess that, because I have already told people that lots of times."

"I'm looking forward to my broadcasting job at Fox next year. I am looking forward to the opportunity I have with the Raiders and we are in the process of that. Along with the other different things I'm apart of professionally and in my personal life.

"Just spending as much time as I can with my kids and seeing them grow up, and support the different things they have going on. That is a very important job and I take them all pretty seriously."
