Mum baffled at £20 cargo pants from Boohoo that are nearly five feet long

A woman was stunned to find that trousers she had ordered from online retailer Boohoo were huge and nearly went up to her neck when she held them up against her frame. Mhairi Billington, from Liverpool, had ordered a new pair of green cargo trousers from the store in preparation for an upcoming 90s themed rave but was left in stitches over the size issue.

The 27-year-old mum-of-two realised the garment, which she received on December 30, was nearly five feet long as they were almost the length of her entire body and she was quick to capture the moment on video when she realised the size difference.

Mhairi, a care worker, claims that there was a 'whole extra leg's space' at the bottom of the trousers which she had brought for an upcoming party.

She said: "I pulled them out and thought, 'Oh my God, these are gorgeous. I'm going to love these'. As I pulled them out of the bag and lifted them up, I thought, 'they're nearly as tall as me'.

"I was just shocked. I whipped my phone out straight away [to record the moment], because I just thought obviously nobody is this tall. I'm five foot five, and the top of them nearly came up to my neck. The pants must have been nearly five feet long.

"They must have thought I had the world's longest legs."

Mhairi did try them on but wasn't shocked to see that they did not fit so decided to send them right back.

She said: "I did try them on but they didn't fit, which is a good job because they would have been going back anyway. There was a whole extra leg's space where the foot was going to come out.

"I'm not paying £20 for a pair of pants that could fit the green giant. I think maybe this is the end of mine and Boohoo's relationship."

Mhairi swiftly returned the cargo trousers to Boohoo, and was refunded by the popular fashion company shortly after.

The surprising purchase quickly went viral on TikTok, with footage showing the stunned fashionista holding the length of the trousers up to her body in comparison.

The video racked up more than 20,000 likes and some users even claimed to have had similar experiences.

One user said: "I ordered beige ones and they were the length of me from head to toe."

Another said: "Being 4'11 they'd literally be taller than me."

A third joked: "Omg I’m 6ft 8, I need them!"
