Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan has hit back at social media trolls after being called “tacky” and “unclassy” for posing in front of the camera in a plunging red gown.

The star, 32, flaunted her assets in the clinging scarlet dress, as she filmed a clip of herself in the skimpy outfit and shared it with her fans and followers on Instagram.

Helen could be seen wearing the deep v-neck gown, with the neckline pushing up her eye-popping cleavage.

The star wore her blonde tresses slicked back into a neat bun, as she wore a subtle makeup look, complete with black cat-eye eyeliner, a nude lip and tonnes of highlighter on her cheekbones.

However, Helen received a backlash to the clip. She then decided to reupload it alongside a few other snaps.

One of the images featured the quote: “empowered women empower women”.

Layered over the post of herself in the dress, Helen added the hateful comments that were left on the original reel, with one reading: "Let's hope no children sees this as a role model or aspirational. Fake is not the way."

Another comment read: "What happened to classy, Helen."

However, in the next photo, the actress shared the complimentary comments she had received.

One said: "You look sensational!!!", while a second wrote: "So many women giving out vile comments, what happened to girl code????? Wear what YOU like, feel fabulous for yourself x."

Helen captioned the photos: "So I shared a fashion reel a few days ago and I was a bit taken back from the not so nice comments I got on the post.

"I was more shocked that the majority of them were from women.

"I don’t believe women should comment negativily about other women.

"I enjoy seeing women feeling glamorous and feeling empowered and dressing how they want to dress."

She continued and flipped the narrative, writing: "I had some comments from other women about being “tacky” or “unclassy” well to me being a woman and speaking so badly of another womens appearance is “tacky and unclassy”.
