This Morning's consumer editor quipped 'let's get something right' after an on air error today.

Alice Beer was fronting a segment about the most eco-friendly toilet rolls with hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary when the on air blunder occurred. This Morning has been hit with claims in recent days that the atmosphere backstage is 'toxic', which Alison and Dermot were quick to deny as they hosted the programme on Monday.

On today's episode, Alice was referencing one of the brands, 'who gives a c**p, when she stopped herself from saying the name in full because of the final word. However, as she looked to the side to point it out to hosts Alison and Dermot, she noted that the word hadn't been covered on the box and was in full display of the cameras.

Laughing about the mistake, she quipped 'let's get something right' after adding that it was half term and kids could be watching the programme with their parents, given they were off school.

The trio then carried on with the segment, but the word could be seen displayed on the toilet roll packet behind them.

It comes amid claims of a 'toxic' atmosphere backstage on the show, as made by the likes of former contributors including Dr Ranj.

Alison and Dermot addressed the claims earlier this week, with Dermot saying: "We know we have been in the news at the moment. But just from both of us, and the whole team here, the crew, the guys downstairs, we love making this show for all of you."

Alison added: "We really do and that's exactly what we're gonna do - we're continuing to do that."

Regular guest Gyles Brandreth, who was also on the sofa, added: "We're very happy to be here, can I say that? This is a happy place to work, I enjoy coming in here. We are happy people in a happy place with interesting stories."

Meanwhile, Phillip Schofield - who has parted ways with ITV after admitting to having an affair with a younger male colleague - released a statement where he slammed claims of toxicity backstage on the show and said people had a "grudge" against him.

In a post on Instagram in view of his 2.9 million followers, he wrote: "Now I no longer work on @thismorning I am free to say this. I hope you have noticed that it’s the same handful of people with a grudge against me or the show who seem to have the loudest voice. This Morning IS the best show to work on, with the best people.

"In all the years I worked there there was no toxicity. You can listen to those persistently loud voices if you like."
