Selling Sunset's Chrishell Stause comes clean about her Vegas wedding to G Flip

Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause has clarified her marital status after rumours ran wild that her recent nuptials to Australian musician G Flip weren’t real.

Earlier this month it was revealed that 41-year-old Chrishell had swapped vows with 28-year-old G Flip - born Georgia Flipo - in a Las Vegas ceremony.

But Vegas weddings are often drawn into question as they may not be performed with someone with the power to declare a marriage valid, and there is often additional paperwork to authenticate a marriage.

Cruel critics have also questioned if Chrishell and G Flip announced they were married to generate media attention - but now the Selling Sunset star is setting the record straight.

Appearing on SiriusXM Hits 1 LA with Tony Fly and Symon, Chrishell declared that her marriage to G Flip was valid - in her eyes, at least.

She said: “Well, honestly, I think that everyone is [acting] like that’s the thing. They’re like, ‘Gotcha’.

“But to be honest with you, we knew if we did it, we would also hear people say, ‘Oh, you know, G wants a green card.’

“Where it’s like G already has a passport, a visa.”

The reality star continued: “It doesn’t matter what we do for the rest of our lives, we’re gonna hear criticism, so we decided we are always just gonna do exactly what we wanna do and I’m not out here to try and prove people how serious it is or how meaningful it was.”

And she added: “If you don’t believe it, I don’t care and that’s the best part. I don’t need your approval.”

Back on Wednesday 10 May, Chrishell announced that she and the Australian singer - who is nonbinary and uses they/them pronouns - has swapped vows one year after starting dating.

But news reports subsequently declared that there were no legal documents on record to support the claim the pair had tied-the-knot.

And TMZ reported that the pair were not officially legally married - but “plan to have an official wedding ceremony” in the future.

Noticeably absent from the wedding photos that Chrishell shared online were any of her Netflix co-stars from Selling Sunset.

She said: “The focus was on us and what it meant to us, and that is exactly the way we wanted it. We didn't want to stress about details.

"We just wanted to have fun and have the meaningful part between us. But then obviously, now we can celebrate with our friends and it’s nice to be able to share.”

She added that the intimate ceremony was attended by a select few people and that some of her Selling Sunset co-stars watched the ceremony - conducted in front of an Elvis impersonator - via video link.
