Beloved presenter and face of Soccer Saturday Jeff Stelling will host a special edition of the show this Sunday for the final time before calling it quits.

As a result, Mirror Football has taken a look back at one of his most memorable moments leading the show. The die-hard Hartlepool fan has been steering the Soccer Saturday ship since 1998, though it is ironic his last hurrah will fall on a Sunday as he helps Sky Sports' coverage of the final game of the Premier League season.

Stelling initially announced he was stepping down at the end of the 2021/22 season, but went back on his decision and opted for another year. Sadly, this time it really is goodbye. If Stelling is the most iconic figure in Soccer Saturday's long history, former pundit and colleague Chris Kamara is a close second.

The pair's on-screen chemistry helped provide some legendary moments, who could forget Stelling's shriek of "There's been a red card at Fratton Park, but for who Chris Kamara?", which was met with the hilarious response of; "I don't know Geoff, has there? I must have missed that."

While Kamara had a reputation for making the odd gaffe, he took great pride in getting one over on Stelling back in October 2016. The former was in east London covering West Ham's home clash with Sunderland when he noticed his host had made a blunder.

Stelling cut to Kamara as he said: "Let's go and find out what's happening at Upton Park, West Ham nil Sunderland nil, does this look like it's going to end in deadlock to you Chris Kamara?"

The former Bradford boss replied, with a smug grin on his face, "The London Stadium you mean Jeff? Get it right... come on."

Stelling, reeling from realising he'd forgotten the Hammers had bid farewell to Upton Park a few months prior, didn't take the correction particularly gracefully.

"That's the low point in my career," he sarcastically quipped. "Chris Kamara telling me to get it right. Unbelievable Kammy."

Kamara stepped down from his role on Soccer Saturday following the conclusion of last season. Months prior to his exit, he revealed that "live TV might have to take a back seat" as he opened up on his diagnosis with apraxia of speech.

At the time, Stelling showed his class by sending a touching tribute Kamara's way that read: “Kammy you still bring life, energy, fun and understanding to all of your reports on Soccer Saturday. We all love you pal, keep going!"

Just over a year later and ahead of Stelling's last showing, Kamara has returned the favour with a sweet message of his own.

Taking to Twitter, Kamara wrote: "This Sunday sees the last day at Sky for the best broadcaster I have ever met @JeffStelling.

"I am getting my tribute in early because Jeff has been a massive part of my life & I love him to bits. One of the things I do miss is working with the maestro.
