Amy Dowden updates on dancing future as she thanks fans after cancer diagnosis
Amy Dowden has broken her silence over her dancing future as she thanked her fans for their support following her cancer diagnosis.
The professional dancer, 32, shared the devastating news with fans on Wednesday, telling her social media followers she received a Stage 3 breast cancer diagnosis last week.
The Strictly Come Dancing star vowed to return to the dance floor and she told her followers: "Hey all, I’ve got some news which isn’t easy to share.
"I’ve recently been diagnosed with breast cancer but I’m determined to get back on that dance floor before you know it."
Amy, who tied the knot last year, signed off with a love heart emoji and penned "Welsh love Amy x."

Posting on her Instagram stories, she shared a picture of herself dancing on Strictly as Sam Ryder performed.
Amy wrote: "This feeling performing is like no other! The emotion, excitement, adrenaline and I can't wait for it again.
"It feeds my souls! Thank u for every single comment and message today! It means so much to me and my incredible family I'm so lucky to be surrounded by! Thank you."
The dancer found a lump in her right breast in April, just a day before she jetted off on honeymoon with husband Ben in the Maldives.
When she returned form the break abroad, Amy booked in with her GP and was sent for an emergency referral before being diagnosed last week with grade 3 breast cancer.
"My doctor explained to me that there are three grades, and three is the most aggressive, but they feel like they've caught mine early and to not be too alarmed because grade 3 would be expected in somebody of my age," she explained to Hello!
Amy's mum was diagnosed with thyroid and breast cancer when she was younger, as she explained "You just don't ever think it's going to happen to you. I hadn't thought it was possible to get breast cancer at my age.
"My mum has had breast cancer, but she had it at a later age, in her 50s."
Sarah James, executive producer of the BBC series, has since said: "Amy is an exceptional person, both on and off the dance floor, and is adored by her entire Strictly Come Dancing family.

Amy, who has danced with James Bye and Tom Fletcher on Strictly over the years, doesn't currently know if she will be able to return to Strictly later this year.
