Kerry Katona has revealed that Phillip Schofield apologised to her after her infamous This Morning interview from 10 years ago when she was heard slurring her words.

The former Atomic Kitten star, 42, was accused of being drunk after the disastrous live TV appearance in 2008.

The singer has since insisted medication for her bipolar disorder had affected her speech.

She previously revealed that she got criticised for years over the incident 15 years ago, explaining: "No one believed it was my meds that made me slur, but it was – instead they assume it was the drugs and that's the reputation I got.

"I still get so badly criticised – it's such a fickle world."

But in the midst of the fall out from the Phil and Holly Willoughby “feud” saga, Kerry has revealed that the 61-year-old telly presenter actually apologised to her over the infamous interview where he pointed out she was slurring her words.

Writing in her column for OK! Magazine, Kerry told how she thought it was about time the show had an overhaul and brought in some new presenters.

She explained: “There’s obviously been a lot of drama going on at This Morning between Holly and Phil and I think it’s time to get new presenters.

“It’s not even that I’ve got an issue with Phil these days – he apologised to me after pointing out that I was slurring my words on the show back in 2008 and we’ve got on ever since.”

She continued to chuck her two pence in on the unfolding drama at the ITV hit morning show, writing: “It’s more that when you’re watching the show, you want to believe in their relationship, don’t you?”

She went on to say she used to love now-axed presenter Eamonn Holmes and wife Ruth Langsford’s episodes and urged telly bosses to bring them back.

Kerry’s comments come just days after Phillip announced that he had decided to 'step away' from This Morning over the weekend.

Phillip who has fronted the ITV programme for over 20 years, announced on social media on Saturday that he was departing from This Morning with 'immediate effect' following speculation he and co-host Holly Willoughby were no longer speaking behind closed doors.

Feud claims mounted after Phillip's brother's sex abuse trial, and the queue-gate saga back in September after both Phil and Holly were falsely accused of skipping the line to see the late Queen Elizabeth lying-in-state.

There has been much pressure and tension seemingly brewing behind-the-scenes on This Morning in recent months, and it appears that trouble could have kicked off long before rumours of a feud between Holly and Phil even emerged.
