BBC Breakfast chaos as pregnant Nina Warhust confronted by protester live on air
BBC Breakfast business correspondent Nina Warhust was interrupted by a heckling bystander on Tuesday as she reported on inflation outside of the studio.
The pregnant broadcaster was reporting live from Salford Quays while speaking to Sally Nugent and Jon Kay in the studio.
She said: "I'm treating myself to an ice cream cone shortly but Claire's prices have gone up to £3.50 for a single cone and it's not surprising really when you look at the overall inflation of food and ingredients. Overall food inflation, at the moment, is 17.3 percent..."
A man could be heard shouting inaudibly in the background before he came into view behind Nina.
Nina was interrupted by a protester (BBC)"Excuse us for one second," Nina told viewers as the man began to hit out at the BBC.

Nina moved away and attempted to continue her broadcast while the protester could be heard shouting.
"Clearly there is a lot of demand for ice cream," Jon joked back in the studio as Sally added: "Do you know what? Don't mess with our Nina."
The BBC Breakfast host then assured viewers the pregnant broadcaster was safe.
"Nina is not alone, she has company with her, she will be completely fine," Sally said before BBC Breakfast continued on with their segment on inflation.
Nina kept her cool (BBC)BBC Breakfast viewers took to Twitter to comment on the incident as one remarked: "What a fool. Couldn't understand a word he was shouting about then #BBCBreakfast," while another joked: "That ma nis very passionate about the price of ice cream going up, you wait till he finds out how much a Freddo costs these days #BBCBreakfast."
"Did anyone catch what that fella was shouting about the BBC? #BBCBreakfast," a third wrote and another said: "Oh poor Nina, don't mess with her! @BBCBreakfast #BBCBreakfast."
Someone else shared: "You scream,I scream...We all scream for political statement during a live piece" #BBCBreakfast," and a sixth praised the broadcaster for remaining cool under pressure: "Nina handled that incredibly well #BBCBreakfast."
