Manchester City could well be champions before they kick-off against Chelsea on Sunday afternoon as Pep Guardiola's dreams of a historic treble edge ever closer.

Title rivals Arsenal need to win away at Nottingham Forest to keep their hopes alive for at least one more night, before City welcome the Blues to Stamford Bridge knowing a win would be enough to seal their status as champions for a fifth time in six years.

Meanwhile, this clash marks the first of two trips to Manchester in the space of five days for Chelsea as Frank Lampard leads his side out at the Etihad on Sunday and at Old Trafford to face United on Thursday night.

Here is all you need to know about the game.

When is Man City vs Chelsea?

Guardiola's troops will clash with Chelsea at 4:00pm on Sunday, May 21 as City look to have the Premier League title wrapped up with two games to spare.

The last time these two met in the league saw City run out 1-0 winners at Stamford Bridge in early January, with Riyad Mahrez converting an inviting Jack Grealish delivery across the face of goal from close range.

Three days after that meeting, City brushed Chelsea aside in the third round of the FA Cup with a 4-0 win at the Etihad.

Guardiola is expected to name a full-strength side given one more win will keep the title in their hands for another year.

The City boss has a habit of tinkering with his starting line-up at the business end of the campaign, but expect a similar side to the one that demolished Spanish giants Real Madrid 4-0 mid-week.

City's only injury concern is Dutch defender Nathan Ake, who is expected to continue his spell on the sidelines and miss this fixture through a hamstring problem.

It is a similar situation for Chelsea, with Benoit Badiashile the only new fitness headache for Lampard.

The Blues interim manager confirmed all the long-term injured stars will miss this tie, adding: “Mason (Mount), Reece (James), (Ben) Chilwell, N’Golo (Kante), (Marc) Cucurella are not fit.”

The game is also expected to come too soon for defender Kalidou Koulibaly, despite his recent return to training.
