Teen who dumped newborn baby in trash bag 'didn't know she was pregnant'
A teenager is accused of murdering her newborn baby by placing it in a hospital trash bag shortly after giving birth - with her lawyer claiming she didn't know she was pregnant.
Alexee Trevizo has been charged with murder and was captured breaking down to tears at the face of her distressed mother who demanded she told the truth.
On January 27, the girl visited Artesia General Hospital with back pain and tests reveal that Trevizo is pregnant and in labour, although she claims she was unaware of her pregnancy.
Trevizo then reportedly locked herself in a hospital bathroom for an extended period of time, where she gave birth to a baby, according to the police.
A cleaner then discovered the bathroom covered in blood and alerted the nurses after lifting a heavy trash bag.

The newborn baby was found dead in the trash bag and terrified hospital staff alerted the police.
The girl is captured in footage from the body camera of a policeman lying on a hospital bed crying in distress.
Her mother can be seen walking towards her, furiously demanding she tells the truth until the girl finally breaks and exclaims, "I put it in the bag - the trash bag."
Appearing scared and remorseful, when confronted by police, Trevizo expressed her remorse, saying, "It came out of me, I put it in the bag. In the trash bag. I'm sorry mom."
In the body camera footage, she also repeatedly mentions that the baby was not crying, appearing confused and overwhelmed by her lack of understanding of what was happening.
Gary C Mitchell, the attorney representing Trevizo, claimed that she was unaware of her pregnancy and that her actions were a result of this lack of knowledge.
He claimed to the Daily Mail: "This child did not cause the death of this baby. She did not know that she was pregnant."
Mr Mitchell explained that Trevizo did not know that she was pregnant when she went to the hospital and that she did not intentionally cause harm to the baby.
He also revealed that the baby's father has been "very supportive" of Trevizo, and was also unaware of the pregnancy, which he says is not unusual.
But an autopsy determined that the baby's cause of death was asphyxia, ruling it a homicide.

Trevizo was later charged with first-degree murder, intentional abuse of a child resulting in death, and tampering with evidence.
