'Car-sized' UFO floats through sky prompting speculation and conspiracy theories
Footage of a large 'rotating' UFO has led to a range of theories as to what it might be by enthusiastic spotters.
A member of the public filmed a floating object as it soared approximately a few hundred feet in the air between Gomersal and Birstall, in West Yorkshire, at around 11.30am on Thursday.
It was described as being large, "about the size of a car" by the person who captured the footage.
They didn't want to be named but said: "I thought it was a balloon like the Spider-Man one but you can’t get the scale from the images.
"It was about the size of a car and as you can see it rotates so maybe a drone."
Stargazers spot baffling aerial phenomenon that looks like oil on waterSpeaking to YorkshireLive, they added: "It was a few hundred feet (high) and rising in a line."
The amateur videographer uploaded the footage to a UFO Sightings forum, prompting speculation about its origins.
One person suggested 'spy drone' while someone else said it was 'Black Knight'.
The Black Knight satellite conspiracy theory suggests that a 'spacecraft' has been orbiting the Earth and this has been covered up.
According to some, the Black Knight has been orbiting Earth for thousands of years and is of "extraterrestrial origin".
