Martha Stewart has revealed that her love life has had a boost since she posed in a swimsuit for Sports Illustrated - looking ageless and beautiful in the process.

Earlier this week the American businesswoman made history as the oldest woman to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit issue.

The 81-year-old retail mogul looked sensational when she posed up a storm while donning a white swimsuit.

And now, it seems as though her sensual cover for the magazine has led to a queue of romantic suitors.

Martha attended the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit party on Thursday evening, with the ageless star donning a golden gown and a huge a smile.

Beaming on the red carpet at the event, Martha looked incredible in her metallic frock which she paired with some pretty earrings.

On the red carpet, Martha told Entertainment Tonight that her love life has heated up since her swimsuit cover hit the headlines.

Speaking to the publication, Martha, who was married to Andrew Stewart for almost 30 years, teased: "I've gotten a few inquiries. Just a couple."

Martha was married to Andrew for a number of years before they separated in 1987. With them officially filing for divorce in 1990.

At the glitzy event, Martha did however urge that dating isn't her priority at the moment, but would be up for a romantic encounter in a movie.

"Maybe I'll do a movie or one of the great series that's on now," she told the publication.

She went on to say that she's quite confident that she will "find the right leading man" to star alongside.

Martha also touched on how busy she is, with her "still working really hard" and prioritising certain things.

Her garden is "very important" to her, with her also touching on how her grandchildren are the most important thing for her to focus on right now.

"It's the best. I have two amazing grandchildren," she gushed.

This comes as fans remain in awe after Martha bared all in a white swimsuit while posing with a billowing orange cover-up draped over her.

Appearing on the Today show to debut the cover, Martha looked thrilled to see herself on the front of the magazine and after having an official first look, she said: "I like that picture" before applauding herself.

"To go to an island and get changed into nine different bathing suits in one day in front of all of those people and it turned out okay!" she told the show's hosts about her experience on the shoot.

Martha appeared to be taking the major moment in her stride as she admitted that she doesn't "think about age very much," in regards to being the oldest cover girl.
