Bridgerton fans sob after spotting hidden detail in Queen Charlotte's clothes
Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story has proven to be a real treat for Bridgerton fans, with many viewers swept up in the romantic yet often very sad love story of the headstrong Queen Charlotte and King George.
Now fans believe they've spotted a poignant detail about the clothes the ever-stately queen wears on the show, and it's left them blubbering all over again.
As with previous seasons of Bridgerton, Queen Charlotte follows a 'will they, won't they' plot. In this story, however, the obstacle was King George's mental health struggles, and the treatments he felt forced to endure.
By the final episode, viewers were left greatly moved by the sight of the king and queen showing solidarity and commitment to one another, their love and respect for each other still strong as elderly grandparents who had weathered many storms together.
A rather aloof and at times intimidating character in the ongoing Bridgerton storyline arc, viewers rarely get a glimpse of the older Queen Charlotte's carefully guarded inner life.
Netflix's Bridgerton spin-off Queen Charlotte gives fans first look at seriesEagle-eyed viewers do believe however that her innermost thoughts and concerns are clearly signalled through her very deliberate choice of clothing.
As pointed out by TikTok fan account The Whistledown Whisperer: "Queen Charlotte wears outdated clothing. While other women have moved to Regency era style, Charlotte continues to wear the same style as the Georgian era (bigger skirt & lower waist).
"Why you may ask does QC keep the same look as when she was a young queen? To comfort George and make her more recognisable. He's always safe with her."
Many followers were left in floods as this theory, which makes complete sense given we know just how much Charlotte wants to protect and support George above all else.
Alluding to one key scene in the new series, one emotional person wrote: "Just like how Brimsley told her that she has remained frozen in time."
Another commented: "I binged that series, it made me cry. She really was stuck in time and will always love George."
