S Club's Rachel Stevens 'facing driving ban after being caught speeding twice'
Rachel Stevens is reportedly facing a driving ban after being caught speeding on the same road twice in two months.
The S Club 7 star was driving at more than twice the 20mph speed limit through London’s Regent’s Park Outer Circle in September and November last year.
Police officers with speed guns pulled the singer over both times and she has since pleaded guilty to two charges of speeding, the Evening Standard reports.
This means Stevens could face a potential driving ban when she is sentenced at Willesden magistrates court on Friday.
So far the pop star, who had hits with Don’t Stop Moving’ and Reach, has not attended court in person, instead giving submissions in writing.
'I'm spending £20k on a new bathroom - but won't help my brother out with cash'Court documents show she was first caught speeding in a BMW X3 series at just before 12.30pm on September 9 doing 41mph in a 20mph zone.
The second stop was just after 10am on November 7 last year, this time behind the wheel of a Mini Cooper, doing a similar speed of 42mph.
Stevens is said to have made no comment during each of the stops and later pleaded guilty to the offences in writing, indicating she did not want to attend court to be sentenced.
Publicly available court logs state the hearing is to 'consider disqualification from driving'.
The Mirror has contacted Stevens' reps for further comment on this story.
Her court case comes after a tricky few months for the star, who split from her childhood sweetheart husband Alex Bourne last July.
She announced the news on Instagram just one month before their 13th wedding anniversary.
In a message to fans, she wrote: "I just wanted to share with you all that after time and consideration the difficult decision has been made for Alex and I to separate.
"While we are no longer partners in marriage, we will remain partners in parenthood to our beautiful girls and continue with love and respect for each other.
"I feel so incredibly grateful for the life we built together and will now continue to be focused on moving forward united as a family."
'My sister tried to wear a wedding dress to my engagement party - I got revenge'The couple share two children together – Amelie, 12, and nine-year-old Millie.
She has since found love again with Brendyn Hatfield after being partnered with him when she starred on Dancing on Ice.
Stevens also had to deal with the shock death of her S Club 7 bandmate Paul Cattermole in April.
It comes as the band were preparing to go on their 25th anniversary reunion tour together later this year.
Paul died last month at the age of just 46. His cause of death is yet to be revealed, but police say it is not suspicious.
The band have since rebranded as ‘S Club’ and will still tour, but Paul’s ex-girlfriend and bandmate Hannah Spearritt has since said she will not take part.
This leaves Stevens to perform with as a fivesome with Jo O'Meara, Tina Barrett, Jon Lee and Bradley McIntosh.
