The Repair Shop expert pays tribute to departing co-star with emotional farewell
The Repair Shop book restorer Christopher Shaw bid farewell to a colleague on Instagram as fans rushed to share their support and question whether the expert was also leaving.
Christopher shared a picture with TV director James Bainbridge, who worked with the book binder on the BBC show, outside the infamous Repair Shop workshop.
He captioned the post: "So long, farewell to @bain_bow hope to see you in the future. Thank you for all your hard work #repairshop."
The TV director replied: "Wonderful working with you and the gang!"
However, some fans questioned whether Christopher himself was leaving the BBC series.

One commented: "So sorry to see Christopher leave The Repair Shop. Good wishes for the future," while another wrote: "I loved watching you repair the books, such care, making slip cases too when you thought it necessary, you'll be missed."
A third added: "I loved watching him repair old books! What a talent xx."
Christopher later shared an image of The Repair Shop team accepting a BAFTA TV Award on Sunday.
The BBC show won the Daytime award for an episode featuring the team visiting the-then Prince Charles at Dumfries House in Scotland for The Repair Shop: A Royal Visit.
Christopher Shaw is a book restorer on The Repair Shop (BBC)Accepting the award at London's Royal Festival Hall, host Jay Blades said: "Wow, just give me two seconds, I have to take a picture, it's quite special. We started as a daytime show on BBC Two, I’m so glad we’ve got an (award)."
Jay added that it was the "first time" that a "6ft black guy, from Hackney, [with a] gold tooth, [from a] single parent [family]" was honoured with an award for daytime TV.
After accepting the BAFTA, the host confirmed the show's fate in the winners' room and revealed the series has been commissioned by the BBC for two more seasons.
He said: "I think we've been commissioned for another two years if I'm not mistaken. We are going to do more. We've just won a BAFTA so I think they're going to want us to stay on air."
