A world record 382 Lamborghinis gathered at Silverstone to celebrate the Italian super car’s 60th birthday - and rocked the race track with an ear-splitting serenade.

Lambo lovers from across Britain created history at the iconic Formula One circuit when more drivers assembled on the grid than ever before.

And the partying petrol-heads made sure they were heard with the astonishing sound of all engines revving together at the SAME time.

The multi-coloured fleet, looking like a (very expensive) Woolworths pick and mix, then sped off together for a unique - and very noisy - parade lap.

Earlier, the dozens of Lamborghinis had left 11 dealerships across the UK in ‘Bull Run’ convoys headed for the Northamptonshire circuit.

They were greeted by the sports car’s board of directors, including Chairman and CEO Stephan Winkelmann, who unveiled the new - and ground-breaking - ‘Revuelto’ to guests.

Looking very much like a typical Lamborghini - the ‘shark-nose’ being the most iconic feature - the Revuelto is unlike all its predecessors in one significant way - it’s the firm’s first hybrid.

This model has a V12 engine and three electric motors.

Mr Winkelmann: “Our celebrations for our 60th anniversary at Silverstone are a fitting tribute to both our brand, our owners and the millions of people around the world who are passionately interested in Lamborghini.

“It is also the perfect occasion for the new Lamborghini Revuelto to make its official UK debut: the first High Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV) not only marks Lamborghini’s first electrified vehicle but also continues our super sports car DNA in terms of Lamborghini design, technology, performance and dynamic emotions.”

There was a nod to the old as well as the new, though, with a display of classic Lamborghini cars including the 400 GT, Miura, Espada, Countach, Diablo and LM 002.

The bright-yellow Miura - sold in 2013 for close to £1m - was once owned by rocker Rod Stewart.

But even the Scot’s famed gravelly voice would’ve been well and truly drowned out by the deafening 382 Lambo ‘symphony’.
