Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom amiibo rewards, compatible figures, exclusive items
We've found out what each amiibo does in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and we've compiled them in a handy guide here for you.
Much like Zelda: Breath of the Wild before it, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has compatibility for Nintendo's amiibo line of figurines, unlocking some nice bonuses that call back to past The Legend of Zelda titles. Scanning a compatible amiibo will offer players a range of items including an assortment of materials and equipment, including sets and weapons based on Links appearance in past titles. New for Tears of the Kingdom is the addition of unique Paraglider fabrics associated with each amiibo for players to customise their Paraglider with.
Every available amiibo is compatible with the game, with non-Zelda amiibo dropping you a selection of random materials like Meat, Mushrooms and Fish. Meanwhile the Zelda amiibo will drop a white and gold chest alongside said materials. You can scan each amiibo once a day, but the bad news is there's no guarantee that you'll get the fabric or any of the special items with a scan, so far I've only had luck with the Majoras Mask and Wind Waker amiibo on the third day of trying. However, the good news it you can create a save before you scan said amiibo and give it another try until you get what you want.
To scan amiibo you'll need to go into the games options menu and enable amiibo, once you've done that an amiibo icon should appear in your ability wheel (hold L), once that's selected just pop the base of your amiibo on top of the stick on your right Joy-Con or on the Nintendo Switch logo on a Pro Controller.
Changing your fabric is simple, just head to Hateno Village and speak with Sayge, and he'll give you the option to customise your glider with any fabrics you've unlocked so far.
