BAFTA TV Awards viewers complained about not being able to hear parts of the event's backstage interviews.

Fans tuned in to BBC to watch their favourite shows and stars win awards for their incredible work.

After bagging an award, the winners head backstage to take part in a post-win interview with fan-favourite YouTuber Amelia Dimoldenberg.

Although Amelia makes sure to hold the microphone close to the winner, she sometimes forgot to bring it close to her mouth when she spoke.

It resulted in viewers at home being unable to hear what she and some of the stars were saying.

Some viewers simply complained that the interviews were 'awkward' to watch.

Taking to Twitter, one user said: "Can someone fix the backstage mics please? We can't hear Queen Amelia."

"Someone please tell that woman interviewing winners that a microphone works better when you talk INTO it," another posted.

One unimpressed fan added: "The post-award interviews are awks though.," while another said: "Backstage, sort out the microphone work please."

"Can anyone tell her we can't hear her..." another posted.

Amelia, who is best known for her Chicken Shop Date series on YouTube, is the Backstage Host for this year's awards show.

So far, Siobhán McSweeney, The Traitors, The Masked Singer and Lenny Rush have won accolades.

Meanwhile, the event suffered another 'awkward' moment when viewers noticed the reaction to the opening act.

Singer Calum Scott and DJ and songwriter Jax Jones both took to the stage to perform their upbeat track Whistle.

But as Jax introduced the star to the stage and the music got underway, viewers couldn't help but notice the audience was a little unimpressed.

As Callum and Jax Jones performed, there was "little movement" from those in the crowd, and viewers were quick to notice many famous faces looked "bored".

Fans called it "awkward" and took to Twitter over the moment, with one writing: "I’ve seen more movement from people at a funeral, this is so awkward."

Another viewer said: "The audience looks bored and rigid with the opening of the BAFTA ceremony. It’s not a good start."
