S Club's Hannah Spearritt steps down from tour after Paul Cattermole's death

S Club singer Hannah Spearritt has stepped down from the group's upcoming tour after Paul Cattermole's death.

Paul was found dead at his home in Dorset on April 6 aged 46, and it was later stated that there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

Paul's bandmates – including Hannah, Rachel Stevens, Tina Barrett, Jon Lee, Jo O'Meara and Bradley McIntosh – were left in complete shock and paid tribute to their friend.

And now, it has been announced that Hannah won't be joining the group in their 2023 tour - which has been renamed to 'The Good Times Tour'.

Rachel, Jon, Tina, Jo and Bradley took to their official Instagram page to break the news and pay tribute to their late friend.

Jon started off by apologising for not speaking out sooner and said Paul's death has been a "shock" for them and it "took them a while" to figure out how to talk about losing their "brother Paul".

Rachel added they've been spending time supporting each other while Tina said: "It's just really sad and really hard to process it right now."

Bradley paid tribute to their pal and explained: "We're all still in so much disbelief and Paul was a big brother to us and you guys out there.

"He truly was a unique specimen of a human being. No one can ever replace our Paul but he lives on inside each and every one of us."

While holding back tears, Jo said: "When he walked into a room, you'd definitely know that he was there because he'd light it up with humour and love and [he was] just a really special person."

Jon went on to explain Hannah's absence from the video.

Speaking on their social media, S Club said: "You've probably noticed that there's only five of us here today.

"Hannah will always be a part of S Club 7, she won't be joining us on this tour but we wish her all the best for the future."

Reassuring fans of their gigs, Jon said: "However, the five of us are really excited and geared up to crack on. It's going to be our 'tribute' to Paul.

"We are renaming the tour, The Good Times Tour, which is the song that Paul was going to sing...sorry," he added before tearing up.

Tina explained how Good Times was Paul's song and they wanted to pay tribute to him by renaming the tour.

"He's always going to be with us. He's such a huge part of this tour and so involved in everything we are planning. We're just going to keep his memory alive and share it with all of you," Rachel went on.

It comes after Paul's ex and former bandmate Hannah said she "couldn't stop crying" when she heard the news of his death.

"I couldn’t make sense of it and had so many questions. I was trying to process it but I just couldn't," she said.
